What happens exactly? What settings are you using?
I have run mine for approximately ten minutes on jet flame without it failing. It seems to run out of gas sooner than I'd like.

Hey Chloe
Just ran it again from cold.. about 3mins max then flame out.
Set to max on the + and a tight flame... (heating stainless to get some color).
It works for a minute then flickers for a bit.. then splutters to a stop..
flame goes out but the gas is still open.. and flowing..
Can re-ignite but only a lower setting.. then it will go out again.
Its almost as if something is expanding as the temp of the parts heats up.
I might pull it to bits and have a look... or buy a better one.
Unless someone has another idea
Teach me to buy cheap..
:)

If it's spluttering it could be too much gas/too high a setting. I don't tend to use mine turned up full on the silver control, normally around 3/4, and with the red slider set to narrowest flame.
Sometimes I do have to adjust the silver control mid-use depending on how much gas is left.

wiredkiwis, it seems some units are set differently. I tested another and had to set the silver control at 50% to stop the spluttering.

Hi Chloe
Thanks for testing another one....
I've tried it again and your right.. full gas and half flame and it runs longer.
Its only a soft blue flame though.. only just jetting.
Its about the same as a jet lighter I was using beforehand.
Kind of defeats the purpose of getting a torch when it will only do the same job as a lighter.
Thanks for your input though :)

It may be the quality of the butane. I've run into this with some of my pipe lighters.
Try depressing the fill nozzle with a small screwdriver, to let out all the old gas. Then try refilling with a quality butane.
Some of the butane brands aren't particularly clean or pure. Stop by an smoke/pipe shop that has some quality lighters, and ask what they recommend that is reasonably priced.

Don't buy it !!
It's a simple gadget and doesn't work (as said here above)
Just a little, ridiculous flame during one minute and nothing after. I can heard the gas, the swithw seems to work But nothing appears !!!
Pff..

10 minutes is actually great result. If you check the instructions you will notice continuous burning time is no more than 8 minutes and recommended time is 5 minutes. What did you expect? It's a pencil torch after all.
