Well I can tell you that here in Germany it is the same (wearing them when you are out of your property is a problem).

If they find one on you, you lost it and get charged for wearing a unlegal weapon.
First time they close the files a few weeks after you payed the bill.
If they catch you again (depending the state) you can end up in a all exclusive forced vacation program.

However you can buy (everywhere) and own them (hundreds), but not having them on you when you go public.

Australia will be maybe be the same, pay as much taxes you can but afterwords better don't ask for what you payed in the end.

yes this is fine for shipping to australia, non assisted folding pocket knife. carrying it on you is a different story depending on state and situation.
