Try shorting the 510 with a screwdriver and see what it reads. If it's over 0.02 or so, then it's definitely bust.

You've tried directly after receiving it?

Namely, tight the coil head normally, no more, and certainly not less.

Try new batteries and make sure you don't have shorts. This could be a problem of this kind.

Try what ukv said after you change the batterys as stock coils are not always accurate all the time. I had a batch of 10 I clear 16 coils that stated 1.5 ohm and the closest one was 1.8 ranging up to 2.5. It could also just be a dud unit but may as make sure before you go through all the hassle of sending it back.

Do you have a multimeter you can get to test so you compare them even?

Place a small screwdriver over the positive and negative to short the meter to see what it reads. In the center and side and see if it reads anything over .2

Might not work tho as I don't have one as I prefer a real multimeter to be more accurate but worth a try. That's why I asked can you get a multimeter to test the coils and compare the difference.
