Difficult to rebuild
I like the flavour these coils produce for my Genie and miniAerotank tank, however I find them dam near impossible to rebuild and fail 99% of the time.

The outer sleeve seems to be the main problem.

I don't mind just rebuilding it as a single horizontal coil, as they used to come, however when I do so without the sleeve it doesn't seem to vape correctly. Not sure if it's flooding or what the problem is.

What can any of my fellow FT members suggest? Are the single horizontal coils designed for the Genie and Aerotank tank still available (without a sleeve)? If so, I recall have much better success with easily rebuilding those. I hate that sleeve with these new coils.

As I said, the dual vertical coil is not necessary for me, in addition I don't have the patience to build such a thing within such a tight/compact enclosure.

Any suggestions, video links, etc are highly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance...

I've used SKU 1476404 and they work well. I think they are also available in 1.5 ohm.

Thanks for that @quark. Did you use them in both the Genie and Aerotank? As I think I tried them, but because they are shorter they didn't seem to work well. Not sure though.

No, I used in protank2, but I think people put an extra silicone grommet on top, (but upside down), for use in protank3, aerotank etc. I have a pt3, but havent tried this yet. It really just functions as a washer to make up the extra length needed to get a good seal.

You can build them with vertical coils too. You'll get better juice flow, less flooding and leaks, better flavor, and it's easier to build.

Here's a similar build that should give you an idea how to do it.

Thanks @jonhnny_469. I'll give that a try. Many thanks as always.

Cheers...

Since it'll be a bvc type of coil, you also won't need the wick tails into the tank like the build I linked was done. That one was for a top coil vivi nova.

Good to know. Mighty kind of you. Thanks for that important follow up.

I've had really good luck rebuilding as single coil. All I do is put the coil to the top. cut the cotton so it will cover both holes in the sleeve. If I see any gaps when I put it back on, I just stuff a bit of cotton in the hole with my pointed tweezers.
