how to clean gunk Ti coils
Im clear that Ti wire needs to be cleaned before used and just a little pulsed (dull orange) before using it, but what happen when you want to change the cotton because the coil is black? how do you clean it?

with kanthal was easy, I glow the coil and was perfect to go, but if we cant glow the Ti coils, how to clean them after some time of use?

Good question dry burning them is a bad idea. I turned a few white and they stunk up the room just from pulsing them lightly on a mech. I've been just tossing them when they get junked up.

Don't buy dirty wire.

I clean gunk by rinsing in water. I was surprised it worked the first time I did it.

After a while I replace the coil.

Maybe try some pipe cleaners, or an old toothbrush. Vodka can help too.

Vodka?
don't dry burnt your Ti or Ni coil.
base on ~20cm length per coil you need.
it's only less than $0.1 per coil.
which is cheap enough for you to change it every 2~3 weeks with your new wick...
and 10M is good for a year.
except you don't have time to wrap new coil...
but why take time n $$ to clean it...just my thoughts.
vape safe mate :D
SMPL, eGo AIO and Pico with SS316 coil is my daily combo on 2016. I Quit smoking for years and very enjoying vaping MaxVG now @YVR... Vape safe mate:D

I usually rinse it with water when the used cotton is still in the coil. Then dry it with TC. After that, I add some lemon juice and boil it for a while with low temp. Then remove cotton, and brush it with toothbrush or similar and add some more lemon if needed. Also if you manage to get some white oxide on the surface, that is easily removed with lemon juice. Sometimes I'm just too lazy to boil it. Then I just dry burn the coil very carefully. After that I clean potential oxides with lemon.

Q tips (cotton swabs) and Isopropyl alcohol to wash, you can even dip some cotton in the alcohol and run it through the center of the coil if needed, then warm/hot water to rinse clean.

Sterile and good as new ;-)

I just cleaned mine under running water like usual. Then used a tissue to wipe it after reading patrico mentioned pipe cleaners

Shiny. Very good.

Next time I'll try a pipe cleaner.

A little ISO alcohol and you'll have a nice, sterile atty too, and it helps dislodge the gunk faster.

Good idea johnny...
only isoproplyl I've found here has smelly stuff added to it.
I really want some too to clean my pipe. Yeh I still smoke a pipe now and then.

So I guess I'll have to use some vodka. Only problem is, I like vodka and it does not last long.
