I failed to mention I'm a DL hitter too. That was the only downfall of the K 3.1. Though it fit 90% to what I was after, it came short to satisfy my craving. Thats when I discovered the Orchid, and DL hits. The quest was still on though as it didn't quite fit the other criteria the Kay 3.1 had. The K v5 ( slightly restricted DL ) is 98.5% now :)

I also build .25 dual coils in the Supreme's. That build works well for me too. I use 7 wraps SS in everything now, but obviously .5 in single coil.
unrealistic expectations lend to disappointment

@steve...maybe your wick was packed a bit tight...I cut the wick to length first, thinned it out a little then soaked it and let it plump up fully before putting it down into the channels....just level with the machining marks halfway down the channels. Just out of interest I will try a 316l 24g spaced coil to see what flavour I'm getting and let you know the results!

24g kanthal 2.5mm ID 6 wraps ohming in at around 0.4 is the sweet spot for me on the serpent mini. the flavor i get from it is phenomenal. So much so that i, myself, have bought 3 minis and 2 mini 25s.

Have you tried reverse wrapping your coils? The serpent decks are designed to mount coils in that way. Its much easier to reverse wind your coils on a coilmaster i find.

I have reverse wrapped the coils,Meaning the end wires are flush with the deck,I don't use a coilmaster though. It almost seems as though the serpent doesn't keep up with my quick vaping,It loses flavor quickly and throat hit is gone. What cotton are you using?

I've tried many wicking techniques.

The end wires (wire leads/legs) shouldnt touch or be flushed on any surfaces as it could create shorts. Also what wattage have you been firing it on? Im usually at 22-25watts on a 0.4 ohm kanthal spaced coil.

Edit: i use cotton bacon v2 for all my wicking.

If I drip juice on the coil and vape, I can taste it wonderfully,It is after that it mutes.I also use cotton bacon V2 and using an Eleaf iStick 60W. Airflow is wide open.

It must be the wicking from what i can only speculate. Have you tried using the pancake wicking method?
