Weird. I've got two evic minis and they both still have a full coat of paint. I've used one or the other pretty much everyday for about 2 years now.

Never any problems with mine and it's a daily user (v1). I have had issues on other mods regarding paint coming off. It shouldn't bother you honestly - but if the TANK started to peel, then I'd worry because that's in your juice.

Just cover it with band-aids or stickers or get a sleeve.

Hm. My version 1 Minis look still fine as well. 2 black, one pearl white. Did they change the paint for V2 for something worse?

Mine are both V1, a black and a pearl.

The black one started to crackle and chip like OP's after about a year, more than likely due to acids/sweat of the hand. My pearl colored one is still holding up.

Nope it won't dry correctly, you need something zinc based or a Epoxy paint.


If you prime it with a zinc based primer than any paint should work on top of the primer.


So use something like this before you paint, than use the color paint of your choice. ;)

This is my mod now. I call him.....\\THE TROOPER\\

Hehe, just sanded it off, didn't apply any protection so it will most likely rust at some point. It's really a cheap mod and I really feel like not spending any more time on making it look pretty. On the other hand it is my daily driver so...

I used sandpaper with different grits and I could probably get some super fine grit to give it a mirror finish, but for now - it's good enough ;) thanks for all the replies and advises.







P.S. It's so much colder now and ... winter is coming.

It's a $32 mod.
I think you should buy a gallon of high quality paint, an industrial sander & hire 2 Mexicans to do an intricate mural on the sides.
