I still use my krakens and RSSTS, and use steel cable with superb flavour to date, I torch mine also before installing , mesh gives even better flavour
M2mm x 3mm or 4mm - M2.5mmm x 3 or 4mm - M3mm x 3 or 4mm screws /grubs etc for new vapers will be invaluable

i have now tried the mesh, from some vandy vape rolls which was the only mesh i could find.
first tank didnt give flavor,(actually tasted like the cotton was dry) but after first tank, it is now sucking juice very well, very impressed with the mesh in this tank.
will think about torching the robes next time.

Can you give the sku of the mesh because i messed up 2 of my ropes.

Where i live, woven 300 or 400 stainless steel mesh isn't sold so i used a ss bicycle brake cable, cut some 3 cm pieces and torched it. I put 3 pieces in one hole, not twisted just one next to another and it seems to wick rather well. I'm on my 2nd refill and no dry hits yet.
We can't agree on everything.

I have a Vapor Giant Extreme and a Brunhilde...one think to keep in mind when you have cables is the "tilt", vaping device tilted down to your mouth from the front, like drinking a can soda...if you just hold the device under your mouth, like drinking from a straw, you will not get the desired result. That is the difference from cotton...the steel cable doesnt absorb anything- it just provides a travel path for the liquid.

Don't forget to tilt!

this is what i have used. 3 layers in a length, tourched, rolled on top of eachother and then inserted in the tank.

it works fine. suck the tank empty, no problems at all

No. Capillary action will not keep up with the average vaper. Like I said, ive got two different rdtas with cables, 3 if you count the vandy vape aio. If you vape once every 15,20 minutes you might be ok. Otherwise, tilt, shake or otherwise agitate your device to help it along. This is not anything like a flave or Riviera...totally different but both kinds work great. Many times for me just walking with the device in my hand, or pocket, is enough movement. If Trucking or anyone wants to test this, fill it and sit in on a table, hit it and put it right back on the table ...and repeat.

Good chance you'll get dry pretty soon...as in less flavor and less saturation, not the "vaping with Vic 200 watt test face" hit.

Half the people on this thread seem confused about wicking anyway. How does mesh wicking give you better flavor?

I'd guess the included cable is a 7-19 which means it has 7 strands of 19 wires in the cables construction. You may find that a 7-7 cable will allow for the thicker liquid to be wicked better as the voids within the cable are larger.


You'll want non-coated stainless steel cable and clean it extensively. Wrapping the cable with stainless mesh can help as mentioned.
