Vlc media player....
Anyone have good knowledge of the program?

Ive ben using it with "stock/unchanged" settings for a few years and just started to use it for more things. For the life of me cant find a simple setting, which is "stock/always toggled on" for most media players...

Without creating a new playlist for the program every time i use it, is there a setting to have it just auto play the next file from the source folder?

Ive googled too much and can only find "create a playlist in the program". Im guessing its not a feature.... maybe im wrong?

You can change the interface and toolbar. There's a button for a playlist and a file view of a directory or you can drag & drop a shortcut of a folder, I think. You can change the sort algorithm and it will play each file sequentially.

I have it set to show the file directory but i still have to click and open each file individually or select all and add to playlist.

I Have vlc set as my default media player, itd be nice to just open a file and have it play everything in that directory

You can drag & drop the folder icon where the source files are and it will add a new folder in the playlist or right-click the folder icon and add to queue, IIRC.

Reading, i see it had the setting on andriod version of the program....

Curious if running the program on andriod will give the phone capability to view .avi files.

Would make things easier too, i can skip the pc and just otg the files to my phone whenever

Still creating a new playlist, and have to "do extra" when it could be simpler like other media players :(

Id just use windows media player, but the option to rotate the video is "missing"

Are you referring to VLC for windows or Android?

Just save the playlist. Then it will open in the saved state with all the files if they all exist.

Im refering to windows.

If its confirmed vlc for andriod does have "auto source play", and gives the phone ability to view .avi files, i would use it for android.
