VLC for Windows

View / Playlist
[right click window on the right]
Add Folder
[select desired folder]
[doubleclick the folder to expand it]
[click on the desired video name]

That will play sequentially
You can also save the playlist and open that playlist with a doubleclick

Note: set video output in preferences to DirectX (Direct Draw) or even better, OpenGL if your video card support it. You won't regret it.

But in an open folder you can drag & drop the folder icon at the top of the window into the vlc application. The mouse will have a plus symbol with it.

So for the hell of it, i downloaded vlc for android. Alot less settings avaliable, but it does auto play the next video and in order. Cant rotate the video, but i can lock the screen orientation and just spin my phone. And the best part, it DOES add/have the ability to watch .avi files on this android :)

Now to find a really tiny micro sd only otg adapter for this phone. Already have a full card set otg card reader, but the thing is huge lol.

fraid way I use is a bit cumbersome but it kinda works for me, is to create a 'new folder' and drag drop/copy items into that folder (number them if you want an order other than alphabetical)
open vlc go to 'media' then 'open folder' navigate to your new folder and 'select'...it's an arse to do and I suspect it's easier in the 'pay for' version...but I'm a skinflint what can I say?

I loved VLC but started getting a bit too bloated, went back to MPC.

MPC
There is a file option (or right-click, I can't remember) called something like, "What to do when finished playing this video".. Do Nothing, Play Next, etc
Once you select "Play Next" it remembers the setting. Boom.

If it pisses you off, no doubt it pisses others too. Being an open-source app there are many plug ins/extentions available to download. Worth a Google maybe?

At this point in time, the pc program may not play files in order, but using the phone app does. Its easier to just use this "tablet" to view the videos anyways since i can just rotate it for whenever needed.

My needs are fulfilled lol, even if the pc version cant do simple things... :P

I like VLC on *nix, but use Pot Player on Windows. I can easily play an entire folder, selected files, anything I want.

(click for larger)

Just works. :)

*I also use MPC-HC as a nice backup.
