Yeah, uBlock, actually ABP was all I could get on Safari :/

I lol'd hard at "She'll ask me to Google for her", thanks.

Still, good on her. I can't get my mother near a computer. She only just learn't to check her phone messages. Weird thing is she's clued in on everything else, even science stuff.

Yeah, I figured out it takes us a few seconds to e-mail/text a search request back and forth VS her trying to actually use Teh Internet and FUBAR happening.

Google just confuses her. ;-)

Me, I been online since it took an ftp search or Archie/Gopher to find

I'd read about Archie/Gopher.

I got a hold of a really old IBM computer and played around with it for 2-3months and then I got a job as a computer tech by stretching the truth a little. I was good at acting (and learning at the same time)

After 6 months I got a job at DELL because I got the highest test scores for employment out of 200 people, WTF. I turned it down because I liked to move around more :D

Can't code for shit though.

It's hard to imagine a world without the other side of the screen. In another 20 years people will probably see the time period like before cars, horse and buggy.

I'm trying to play a .DAT file which is supposed to be a video (it's a easter egg file on a game disk). VLC won't play it, which surprised me because I saw screenshots of the file playing in VLC. Can a VLC expert tell me if I get a codec plugin for VLC or should I use another player? File is ZZDUMMY.DAT from Tiger Woods 98.

I believe a DAT file is just the old Video CD format. Try renaming it to MPG?

There is an extension for that, just ficken google for it.

.dat is VCD file suffix and contains MPEG-1 A/V.

Any more 1980s morning woods?

The answer to 1984 is 1973 § Panasonic or Samsung - that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer.
