In your first pic, unscrewing that metal ring removes the driver board.

I'm no flashlight guru, so I had to improvise and fashion a tool. Basically, I just use 2 allen wrenches that fit snug inside the 2 little holes. I'll clamp them between a pair of long nose vice grips and twist the ring.

As I recall, my ring was installed with some thread lock from the manufacturer. So, it's important to get a good "bite" inside the 2 ring holes for the first removal.

Hope that helps and GL!

Are you sure it's a driver problem? What does it do/not do?

If you have a pair of long-nosed/needle-nosed pliers they should work fine, but you might need to file the tips down a little bit to fit into the holes on the driver board. That's all I've ever used and they also work good for removing/installing tailcap switches.

If it has a side switch, that may need to be removed also since it's connected to the driver with wires. I've never removed a side switch, but if it's a well known brand, just Google the name, model/model #, followed by the word review. There may be reviews on the flashlight forums or videos on youtube that show how to remove it.

Example > Ultrafire 502B review.
I just need one more flashlight. Just one. Honestly. :D

Do you own a multi meter? If you do you can check for continuity to see if the chip is dead.

The LED is usually easy to get to. Just unscrew the bezel, lens and reflector and you should see the 2 leads (wires) that are attached to the LED. The board that the LED is mounted on usually installs/removes just like the driver.

Airbagz, so it would seem i have to unscrew extra portion off the headlight to get to led ? if you look at picture 2 from top, there is kind of extra section there... tried opening with force, does not open, next step is with the BIG pvc pipe pliers ... oh well... :)

Is it a zoom flashlight? If so, it most likely has a bezel/lens that can be removed, similar to the one in the video below. vv
