They are about 2" blade and have a ball detente locking system making them pretty much the same as friction folder and slip joint I they close without freeing a lock first. The detente is strong enough without being ridiculously difficult to open or close. I have two of them now and they are enough for EDC purposes. Prices vary so look around, some sites have flash sales bringing the price down, I think I paid around $16 for one of mine. SanRenMu have a massive range of U.K. legal knives, it all depends on the style you prefer. Rough Rider have a range of old styles if you prefer and the prices are a bargain considering the quality.
