So I got some cheap* knives, one is a OEM and the other is a "knockoff" I assume is made in the same damn factory due to quality. Both the frames and blades have casting marks.... They have extra thick blades which seem to be hard to sharpen, but the knockoff actually came sharpened compared to the OEM I'm working on...

I'm to the point I believe they both are pot metal instead of cheap SS.... And I'm not sure if my efforts for a "sharp" knife are worth it. The OEM, I'm in the process of thinning out the blade profile to have a chance at getting a proper edge. I'm not touching the knockoff as I'm keeping it for "before and after" distinguishing.
