Growing for mafia?

The answer to 1984 is 1973 ยง Panasonic or Samsung - that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer.

Growing for preservation. I make what I call "basil bombs" aka basil cubes.

- Process basil in a food processor with olive oil to make like a course paste.

- Fill ice cube trays

- Freeze

Dats a make a da gooda sauce!
Vaper buys pod system, asks for a 510 adapter. LOL for days

Earlier than normal?

Curious or wasps here are fairly sedate until the end of August. As summer winds down and fall is about to start, they tend to become frantic. Gathering for winter.
I have noticed this behaviour much earlier this year. Indeed, the past 10-12 days they have already started their frantic dance.

Although up here we have had almost 2 months of 30+ weather with humidity. Yesterday it was up to 35 or 108F. Really odd they are doing this so early.

Wondering if they are early for you as well..

Not really early, just very consistent and plentiful... I have to shake two or three bee's out of every blossom I pick...

Have to hand it to all of you. I wouldn't be able to find the time to grow my own. I only use 1-2 herbs so its easier to just buy them fresh every few days. Like VapLuvr, I always have both a freezer and fridge full of basil pesto which I love over everything but I just buy the basil, or in wintertime, often kale instead. Only thing I do grow are various bean sprouts. A) Because they are fresher than buying and B) too easy to become ill with them so I know that I alone am careful with them.

This is my garden ๐Ÿ˜

I figure, roughly, I spend about $600-700 monthly just on vegetables alone, for me.

Shit, those Canadian prices are about 5 times the price we would pay in the U.K. Someone must be making one hell of a profit. I guess the organic scam is the same the world over.

I don't usually buy organics other than 2-3 particular vegetables but the regular kind are about $1 less than the organics.

My American friends in the southern states love to send me photos of their vegetable prices.
They pay next to nothing.
But I have free health care and pay much higher taxes so it all evens out in the end or so I try to convince myself ๐Ÿคฃ

Here it goes again... Garden is getting thirsty and rain is in the forecast... I don't recall a year that has been as conducive to gardening as this one.... Covid added a bunch of new gardeners, great weather, High in BTU's and perfect amounts of water at the right times...

I bet there will be a much higher than average 2nd year gardeners next year... A person could probably do well saving and selling seeds... Or with any business wrapped around gardening... Geared toward the novice, You know trends...
