Yeh i think it's a saving money thing :)
They probably knock out a few like this that are cheaper to produce.
Looks like a lot of new torches are like this ,always looking for new ways to part you from your cash when most people would be happy with just a on/off switch.

Probably have to pay a few pennies more to have more control.
I have a few like this that make you go through all the modes to get to the off switch.
It's the flashing one that bugs me the most :)
Anyway ,thanks for the useful info.
I'll be a bit more discerning with any future purchases.
Anyway ,i think i need to question why i'm buying so many torches :P
