Raise the minimum wage - $15

They have just done that here. No idea how anyone could possibly live on just $15 an hour.

Amen. And yet, somehow, most Americans (over half) do just that. Why would anyone be against such a great thing? It boggles the mind, but the GOP fights it at every turn. Hell, the GOP fights actual democracy at every turn here.(most of them, vote-wise)

EDIT: Before someone tries to blame the DEMS, know that the 15.00 minimum wage passed the HOR in January. The Senate, and Grim Reaper McConnell, are the problem. It should not be only Democrats that want better lives for the common folk, ya know?

How on earth you all wished it away for boring Biden is your cross to bear.

I was hoping his admin wouldn't have kept him in his coffin so much so we could get some cool Corn Pop stories and more falling asleep during meetings but alas :(

Hate to be that guy, but the checklist is a little/lot wrong, in some pretty obvious places.

Its a simple list of promises made by Biden during the campaign. All checks are accurate.

Definitely not a "progressive wishlist", those promises were the bare minimum for even a centrist.

How anyone in 2021 can still fall for the Dems rotating villain strategy is beyond me. The mid terms are going to be a blood bath for the party who has now spent almost a year negotiating with themselves what crumbs they're willing to give the electorate.

Well, the last one involves cloning, or it's wrong. If you ever move here, I'd value your opinion. Entertaining tweets are nice when you're just watching the news, not when you live here and are trying to run a business. Most states are legalizing weed, and the FEDS downgraded the classification so it's not looked at as heroin.

And, hopefully, this week, MAYBE we'll have a nice childcare/med leave/infrastructure bill....fingers crossed.

Where else would this be possible? With the GOP? You ARE miles away, huh?

The 10 trillion dollar bill that the Dems negotiated with themselves down to a now whopping 1.7 trillion in 10 years, which now has tax cuts for the rich, corporate subsidies, and is stripped of almost anything that benefits regular people? That bill? Lol.

Democrats n Biden can get fucked.. crooks.. News media (Abc, nbc, cnn, cbs..) all lying scum.. so brainwashing too.. everything on the news is about covid and forced racist antics (dividing efforts) , making all these trillion dollar bills that just line their pockets n put us more in debt.. i use to like using this forum but always coming across these type of threads where carrion defends all the dem bullshit.. makes me disgusted.. either really rich or dirt poor i guess.. very doubtful he is a hardworking working/middle class type. Sorry, but wake up, get honest with yourself..
@javyn where are ya from in Philly? I'm originally from the Northeast.. frankford n grant ave area.. but lived all over the city.. except West.. im guessing your from Fishtown/Port Richmond/Kensington? I was living at York n Boston st in 2011...
Btw... gas is almost back to $4 a gallon again around me.. (in Ocean View, Delaware now) hasnt been nearly that high since... Obama.. 2011-2012... hmm go figure!
Fucking fence around the Capital.. says it all... what do u think most ppl want?
DeSantis is fine by me too.. he is pro vaping too and the dems don't have all that expertise trying to dirty his image like they did Trump.. i was so liberal minded as a kid (Bush fucked up the Republican image bad) but now as an adult and with everyone on the dem payroll.. the crooks are clearly outlined.. when Trump became president, businesses boomed in Philly, plentiful jobs, tons n tons of new buildings in place of abandon ones. I literally saw the progress!
Btw, raising the minimum wage is meaningless.. just means prices go up or less hours at your job.. there is an equal and opposite reaction to that.. Capitalism, not socialism.. some welfare is good.. but more regulations, more taxation.. fuck no. Small government is best.. make businesses not want to outdource..

Yes, that one.
IT was 3.5 T, I believe.(the reconciliation bill) Again, I hear you, but I asked where else, or HOW else, even that pared-down Manchin BS would get done, WITHOUT the DEMS? I know they aren't doing as much as you like, but again, we are a democracy, and railroading is railroading, even if the intentions are "good". I get the impression you would storm the capitol, or subvert the will of the people, simply because you want it bad enough.

Wrong on every level, and you know it...you're too smart and well-informed not to. DEMOCRACY.

If there was any other way, I'd support it. We have what we have, and have to make compromises. If I told you I voted for Youngkin, would you be happy? Or disgusted?

I broke rank this time and voted former, and honestly, after watching his celebration speech, already regret it...

Immediate flip-flops and promises to ban Madagascan popsicles, Jewish space lasers, and CRT. Well, maybe just the last one, which is not taught in VA....he's just playing to the Trumptards, which makes me dislike him already.

LOL, the president is not OPEC, Tony. I didn't blame Trump for lumber prices being through the roof, because it's not his domain. The biggest problem with Conservatives is they only watch propaganda, not news, and never fact-check. I've heard the "Biden made gas high" shit a million times, but my favorite is "they lettin them Mexicans in to vote for Biden", not understanding how immigration works! It's sad that our own citizens are taken in so easily, as i said before, "with a red hat and a re-used slogan"...I get it at first, but NOW? This only exists because right wing media doesn't talk about that, its just videos of Biden closing his eyes for 5 seconds, and bad-mouthing things the people really want, and convincing them it's bad.

I own a successful company, and I don't make enough to be a Republican...people working for 15.00 or less an hour will never move up the ladder, or even get better pay, without the DEMS. And that, folks CANNOT be argued, if you know 1 thing about US politics.
@Tony:
But it is a shame they had to put a fence up around the W.House....wonder why? I didn't see any BIDEN'HARRIS flags beating up security, and I've watched it all, from every angle...so I kinda feel you are off a bit, there. Maybe not, but you'd have to explain it.

+1 details
"I get the impression you would storm the capitol, or subvert the will of the people, simply because you want it bad enough."

70-80% of the people are in favor of living wages, taxing the rich, universal healthcare, abolishing student debt, free education, parental leave, etc, etc. There's no chance you'll get any of that any time soon. Ask yourself why, and you'll see you haven't been a democracy in a long, long time.

" If I told you I voted for Youngkin, would you be happy? Or disgusted?"

I don't see any difference between the two, they're both paid by the same corporations, they're both right wing tools of the establishment.

If the Dems don't see this loss as a warning sign, they're toast in the mid terms. To make myself chuckle, I asked myself what policies for the people they'll now enact to have something to show for when the midterms come.

We both know they're not going to do anything. Their donors won't allow them. They'll have a new rotating villain soon. After the parliamentarian, Manchin and Sinema, who will it be? Liebermann?

Yeah, Air, I said that earlier. then watched Manchin dance around Mika's questions on MSNBC....but, he said he was good at 1.75...then what does the progressive caucus do? Try to move the goalposts and add back in things previously negotiated out....it's fucking sickening, but again, being realistic, not idealistic is how I get by, lol. We wILL get something, our Virginia election going RED put the fear of God in their eyes, it seems.

Which is why I voted for Youngkin. But, I live here, and travel daily throughout the Commonwealth...I could see the signs along the roadside all over, so I could see which way the wind was blowing. I felt at the time this was the beast way to send a message to the DEMS - I hope it works, but I feel like a traitor now, and hearing him say he'd vote again for America's second-worst president in 2024, AND the whole "CRT" thing is so silly...making schools a battleground for something that doesn't exist.

But they better wake up, because most of America will not.
