My first new 21700 pure mech mod:

Vindicator SKU 9695216 FT price 17$
Old style RDA SKU 9629096 FT price 6.15$
The 21700 Molicel P42A, cheap.

Total: 23.19$

DO NOT COPY THIS, THESE MOD CONSTRUCTIONS ARE DANGEROUS.

Just ask, and the specialists in this forum will answer.

I will write about the battery, mod and RDA results in about 10 days, just time for test.
And what to do for safe using a no chip mech mod

I've got a couple Vindicators, and one of each switch. What's your issue? The switch will NOT work properly until a battery is installed. (I mention this, as it's the number 1 complaint by new owners)

I did not test it yet.
I was thinking about this teflon tube around the copper pin in the switch.
Whats your best choice on under 30$ ?

Two more 5 stars hits for this tread in the last hour, thats a lot, thank you.
Please @cilika, change the thread name to "Mech Mods",
that is open for pure tube mech mods, double pure mech mods and same with safety devices.
That would be for the mech mod users much more easy,
than to scoll it in the whole forum.

Thoughts on SKU 9709146 ?
What would be a good 22mm RDA for it? Looking at the Hadaly SKU 6228800

Shit.

I have all of them.

Original and various clones of each.

Back then a new pin from Greece or California wasn't cheap.

A 30 dollar or less clone that's one to one is all you need.

Plus you have extra spare parts as well.

I still carry a nemesis to work.

Not a clone though.

SKU 9717993. Just read the reviews....

We can't agree on everything.

I have the ss and black (also ss) and both have the same issue: button doesnt sit flush with the mod. Ss also means voltage drop. But its only 8.5$ so you shouldn't expect a perfect clone.

This mod is very similar to SMPL, that perhaps means why the name is "SP 18650 mod".
The problem is the area where switch negative is in contact to battery negative, close to the circlip.
There is a thin contact surface with OD 19mm and ID 17mm.
Between this thin surface and battery minus is a high pressure and only the battery wrapping.
Any damage on the battery wrapping will produce a short in the mod.
With a flat surface in this area it would be possible to use:
E.g. Battery Insulators SKU 9633941.
Compared to the original SMPL construction,
this thing has two grooves in 19/17 which will destroy your battery wrapping.
I would rate this mod as very dangerous.
Perhaps better to buy e.g. Cthulhu Tube II V2 Mod SKU 9743883 with safety chip.

The RDA SKU 6228800:
I do not like long coil legs.
The air intake is too low, the RDA will leak.
The RDA should not leak at the 45 degrees position.

If you are trying to be thrifty, get the BATHALA. Sure, it's ugly, but the black isn't TOO bad...the fact is, it performs excellently, with a better switch than the Vindicator.

The Vindicator Is a good enough, decent mod....depends on which version you get, and which of the two clone-makers produced it. Most of the ones still sold at FT seem to be WEJOYtech products, with decent machining and pretty accurate measurements. They all have basically the same switch, which can have two different throws, depending on which groove you lock the fire button into....one throw is short and quick, the next setting a little longer, and safe overall for pocket carry...never had one fire from being carried, fully loaded.

The fire button, especially when new, sometimes only operates properly when a battery is installed, remember that before you leave bad reviews or unresearched comments...(like you just did, earlier) Once the switch "breaks in", I've experienced no issues.

Read reviews! Overall, they can point you in the right direction, if you can read between the lines a bit, lol!

Not Hadaly, but it's younger brother, Citadel. Versions available here at FT are great.

For full-on dripping, I'd probably choose the VENNA, or the Flave EVO. They work better than many small rdas for dripping...especially the Flave's large drip tip opening.
