You don't appear to have a grasp of the tax bill... Mom and pop businesses all over the country expanded being able to fully write off the expense in the first year... My local hardware bought a new building and doubled in size, a small car parts manufacture doubled the building footprint and staff... Self employed ie: home health care for example received large breaks... I did the tax paper work for a home health care worker... She made 80,000 dollars @ 15.00 an hour... WOW the hours she worked... She received 9,000 more in deductions with the tax cut... Considering she paid 25% into SS, MED, and tax that is a chunk of change left in her pocket... You may want to have someone else do your taxes in the future...

How about a little reality for you:

The Treasury Department reported this week that individual income tax collections for FY 2018 totaled $1.7 trillion. That's up $14 billion from fiscal 2017, and an all-time high. And that's despite the fact that individual income tax rates got a significant cut this year as part of President Donald Trump's tax reform plan.

It's cool you believe what you want... Funny how the two parties have been in charge for hundreds of years yet here we are... Also amazing looking at the financials of the congress critters... They all appear to be doing very well off the corporations...
Yes, they are doing "well" as you say. There are some that claim to want to change this (50/60% of Dems) , and others *(almost the entire GOP) that unapologetically want to maintain that "status quo" you mentioned...I just heard you earlier in this very thread complain about this ":status quo", yet you advertise brazenly the group that is most likely to KEEP THINGS THE WAY THEY ARE.

And again this sums up what you are missing... "They want to change" You believe that yet somehow they just can't get it done and you believe that... If they really wanted it done it would be law somehow you don't believe that...

Rep. Vicky Hartzler (R-MO) joined fellow Missourian Sen. Josh Hawley (R) in pushing for a ban on insider trading in Congress.

Hartzler introduced the “Banning Insider Trading Act” on Wednesday, stating, “It’s past time for Congress to crack down on this potential corruption.”

Democrats in the Senate also introduced a ban on insider trading. Sens. John Ossoff (GA) and Mark Kelly (AZ) put forward similar legislation. Ossoff and Kelly’s bill would go one step further by prohibiting dependent children of lawmakers from trading stock, according to Axios.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has been pressured in recent weeks to support a ban on insider trading. Last month, she said members “should be able to” trade stock. Days later, reports surfaced of Pelosi’s husband trading large amounts of assets. And on Thursday, Pelosi stated she is open to the idea of legislation banning the practice for members of Congress.

Yet they are still trading...

lol, you proved my point., as the average American doesn't own a business, and 70% of Americans live "paycheck to paycheck"...like I said, not worried about average Americans.

You bring up corrupt Pelosi, which is telling. She, and other "corporate' Democrats (Manchin, Sinema for example) are your example of what's wrong, when you could have easily said "almost all Republicans"! I call them "corrupt", while Gaetz, Greene, Boebert, etc, just call it "business as usual".

We, as forward thinking Americans, plan to get rid of Manchin, Sinema, and others like them next election. What will the GOP do?

See? There's the problem - that in their minds - there IS NO problem.
What does he mean when he says words?

Sen. Jon Ossoff, D-GA, introduced a bill with Sen. Mark Kelly, D-AZ, which would require members of Congress, their spouses and dependent children to place their portfolios into blind trusts while in office. Sen. Josh Hawley, R-KS, dropped a similar bill, though his version would not ban dependent children from trading.

“Members of Congress should not be playing the stock market while we make federal policy and have extraordinary access to confidential information,” Ossoff said in a press release, which says that he and Kelly have both placed their own portfolios into blind trusts.

Both sides of the house have bills to stop trading, democrats did it first. Hawleys bill doesn't go as far as the first bill.

Melania Trump caught Baron vaping in the bathroom and here we are... America sneezes and the rest of the world caught the cold. As someone from a 3rd world country I really was hoping the "vApInG aDvOcAcY" from the US of A could've pulled off something but nah. While the UK was doing actual progress in advocacy the US really thought they were shutting down BT by incorporating "smoking is dead, vaping is the fucha" on their tee shirts.
