A very important routine to do weekly in a SSD drive is running fstrim. It keeps the drive's health and speed, avoiding data and speed losses. Unfortunately this enclosure doesn't allow this procedure in any of my drives, and having to remove the drive from the enclosure, open my desktop cabinet, connecting the drive to a sata cable and executing the procedure is at least disturbing. For this only reason I don't recommend this enclosure.

In a few days leds were intermitent, 8 weeks later they stopped working.
Very cheap plastic build

In its first nights everything went ok and it really caught a few insects, but around a week of night usage it stopped turning the leds on when connected to the usb at night, and then last night it stopped working for good. A shame, because it's a nice idea and really worked in the beginning, but the cheap plastic build is by itself a disclaimer that it won't last long. At least I expected it would work for a year, but lasted only 2 months.

It takes 4 AA batteries, I used Eveready Gold alcalines and they didn't last 3 weeks!
It surely should be USB-powered, otherwise you'll have to change batteries more than once a month.
